sophia1Sophia had always dreamed of becoming a medical practitioner. Her mother supported her by running a store at the mall in Makola, Ghana. However, her mother’s store burned down and Sophia felt like she needed to give up on her dreams of an education and career in the medical field. But, with the help of ENA she was able to enroll in the Br. Tarcisius Orthopedic Training College in Nsawam where she is currently studying Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology. Sophia said, that “With the help of ENA, a person like me who had no hope at all is being trained now to provide hope, comfort and support to Amputees, the Physically challenged, accident victims and persons with neuro-muscular and skeleto-muscular deformities.” She empathizes with her patients and loves providing them with a renewed hope and brighter outlook on their future. sophia2Sophia also says that she is “.. one of the best students in my class and am currently serving as the SRC Vice-president, S.U. President, and First-aid Team Club President.” She continues to say that “All [of] these qualities and skills would have been [impossible] had it not been for ENA. Indeed, if you run with men it’s called a Race; but if you run with God it’s called GRACE. THANK YOU GOD! THANK YOU ENA! LIVE LONG ENA!” We love giving bright students like Sophia the opportunity to achieve their dreams, reach their full potential and help them raise themselves and their families out of poverty!]]>
