During Sierra Leone’s Civil War, 1,270 primary schools were wiped out and 67% of school-aged children could not attend school. John Charles, the principal, observed, “When the school first opened, 150 children were enrolled. Enrollment increases every year and now totals 360 children. With the intervention of ENA, man y children are blessed with education.” David Saffa, Chairman of Tobu’s School Management Committee states, “This school has really blessed the lives of children in the community. They used to walk six to seven miles a day to attend school. As a result of ENA’s efforts, children can easily go to school and still attend to their farming duties at home. The school has become a place where children from surrounding schools transfer to and quality learning takes place.”
