Two year old Maame lives in Accra, Ghana. She was born with a hole in her heart called ventricular septal defect (VSD). According to doctors, the condition requires a complex surgery to close the hole. This surgery, however, was not available in Ghana so her case was declared by doctors as hopeless and unable to be corrected. After being referred to ENA, we gladly stepped in to pay for the surgery and travel expenses to Channei, India at the Miot International Hospital. We are happy to say that Maame has undergone a successful surgery to correct her heart condition. Her parents say there has already been a massive improvement in her health after the surgery. We continue to keep an eye on Maame’s recovery and hope to watch her health and quality of life continue to improve.]]>
