Meet Senait! Senaitsmall

Senait is a widow and a mother of three. Until Engage Now Africa trained her and her community about the benefit of having private latrines, she and her children used to use the open fields as a restroom. Because of this, Senait says “…the village looked ugly and disgusting! Plus, diseases like Ameba, Jardia and Malaria which are caused by open defecation, were common sicknesses in my village. However, because of the assistance and training on open defecation and public health hazards given by ENA, a lot of the people in my village now built their own private latrine. Now  villagers have a very clean environment and have a happy and healthy life.”
