Meet Adane! Adane is a 14 year old boy who did not have the opportunity to attend school because there were no schools where he lives. But, in 2014 Engage Now Africa built a primary school in the village of Dire Shoki where he lives. The opening of the new school in the village started a new chapter in Adanes’ life. He started going to the school in grade one. Normally a 14 year old would be attending grade 10. Despite his older age, Adane did not give up. Rather, he was excited to begin school and started school with great hope and regret for the lost time. We are thrilled to announce that Adane has not only been promoted to grade 2, but, he is also the number one student in his class of 88. Adane says that he wants “to be a Doctor and help his community as a physician. Thank you Engage Now Africa.” It looks like Adane’s dreams are not far fetched and we are grateful to have helped him begin his educational career. This story is not unique to Adane. There are many young boys and girls just like Adane in the rural villages of Ethiopia. Thank you for your continued support of our education initiative. We currently have 35 schools that are educating thousands of children just like Adane. With continued funding and support we hope to educate thousands more children who have hopes to accomplish great things just like Adane! ]]>
