After months of drilling and building the wells, we are thrilled to currently be providing safe, clean drinking water to over 102, 000 people for the first time! A young mother will now have more time to care for her children and will no longer have to worry if the water she is giving them to drink will make them sick.[/caption]   These five wells are bore hole wells that require a large, drilling rig to dig. For a cost of $10,000 each, these wells are guaranteed to last and are vigorously tested to ensure they provide safe drinking water to the villagers. Furthermore, each community has created a caretaker society to properly care for their wells. Community volunteers take turns cleaning and monitoring the wells to protect them from abuse and damage. In addition to providing clean water, each well has been built with a gray water or runoff irrigation system to provide water for future trees and gardens to be planted and cared for by the communities. Thus, community members will be granted access to fresh fruits and vegetables in addition to clean water. While meeting with community and government leaders in the area, we learned that all five communities said that clean water was the number one need facing the families in their communities.  Now that ENA has been able to provide this critical need, we look forward to assisting these families in not only continuing to improve their health and well-being, but, end poverty by implementing our other initiatives. There are still thousands of children and families without access to clean water throughout the areas we work in. For $10,000 ENA can provide a quality, long lasting water source for generations of villagers. DONATE NOW to help provide clean water to more communities in the areas we work in and LEARN MORE about ENA’s initiatives here!!]]>
